Rio Hondo Event Center in Downey, California, is one of our favorite wedding videos anywhere! Some of the first weddings we ever did took place here! It's a special spot because they designed their ballroom, event center and building just for having weddings and events. The ballroom leads out onto a huge patio and grassy lawn that is perfect for your cocktail hour, family photos, romantic photos and relaxing during the night after dinner. There is a bar inside the ballroom and outside on the patio.

The large, mature sycamore and eucalyptus trees make a perfect background for romantic photos - we love throwing on a warming filter - you just want to stare at the beautiful images for hours!

Rio Hondo is close to so many hotels in Downtown Downey, many Catholic and Greek churches - and even Porto's Bakery! That line is always long, so leave early if you are going to take your bridal party and limo there for a quick snack!
